Football mad Oscar, from Longwell Green, was diagnosed with cerebral palsy when he was three years-old. The condition caused him to suffer from tightness in his legs which meant he couldn’t walk without the help of a special frame.

The complex SDR operation saw Oscar’s nerves cut to loosen the tightness in his legs, allowing him to walk In January this year Oscar underwent lifechanging Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy surgery (SDR) at London’s Portland Hospital. The operation costing £35,000, which was not available on the NHS, was paid for by a huge fundraising campaign, led by musician Daz Sims and an army of supporters.
Oscar spent two days in intensive care before being transferred onto a ward and spent the next three weeks undergoing daily gruelling physiotherapy to strengthen his muscles.
